WELCOME TO SEMPER IN FRUTICE
(Home of the GBH Golf Society)

"The Gentleman and Boys Hackers Golfing Society (GBH GS) was established in 1998 as a surveyors golfing society with a difference. The majority of the members originated from major surveying practices with the aim of creating a society based around two teams (The Gentleman and the Boys). Each member was placed in their respective teams on the basis of their gent and boy characteristics although there have been a few anomalies over the years!

The teams contest the Carumba Cup once a year, which follows the format of the biennial Ryder Cup Match between Europe and the America. In 1999 the Club Championship (medal) and Big Pears (pairs) competitions were established and the Captains Prize was added to the calender in 2000. A Club Dinner is also held once a year and a Club Captain voted in for a one year tenure. The society is entirely social with the aim of enjoying itself at every available opportunity. As a result much of the camaraderie takes place away from the golf course.

The majority of the society are talented sportsmen who have played both individual and team sports to a high level. Not only are they naturally competitive but share a collective team spirit, which creates an intensity unrivalled by the majority of golfing societies. This is all put to one side once safely ensconced at the 19th hole and the real fun begins. As with all great golfing societies the members themselves are what sets them apart. Their passion, commitment and energy create the images contained within the website and make the GBH GS something to celebrate."
